Fill your spring garden with colour with this low-maintenance hardy perennial mixture, Aquilegia ‘McKana Hybrids’. These easy-to-grow plants form a neat clump of soft foliage, then in spring they burst into a profusion of beautiful blooms. Multiple flowers per plant provide long lasting colour throughout the spring season, perfect for combining with your favourite bulbs and bedding. Unfussy and easy to grow, they’re a cottage classic ideal for dotting all around the garden in borders or pots. Grow aquilegias in a sun or part shade in fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Columbines hybridize readily, be aware that any self-sown seedlings may not come true to type. If seedlings are not wanted, deadhead faded aquilegia flowers to prevent them self-seeding. Aquilegias dislike disturbance but overcrowded clumps may be lifted and divided in spring when necessary.
