Description
Get set for a fabulous summer of colour with this long-flowering Agapanthus ‘Poppin Purple’. What makes this variety extra special is its habit of reblooming throughout the summer, providing you with a longer season of interest than many other Agapanthus types. ‘Poppin Purple’ is also an evergreen variety, meaning the foliage doesn’t die down to leave bare soil over the winter. Domed flower clusters sit at the top of sturdy, upright stems. The buds are deep purple before opening to reveal blooms in a beautiful shade of violet – the overall effect is a beautiful two-tone mauve display. A compact plant, ideal for narrow sunny borders and patio pots. Grow Agapanthus plants in rich fertile, well drained soil, in a sunny position. When growing Agapanthus in patio containers use a soil based compost, such as John Innes No.3 .Feed and water African Lilies regularly throughout the growing season.Leave faded Agapanthus flower stems intact to enjoy their architectural seed heads during autumn. When the first frost blacken the seed heads, cut the stems back to ground level. Protect plants outdoors from severe winter weather by providing a dry mulch of bark chips or straw in late autumn. Container grown plants can be moved to a frost free position over winter. Divide agapanthus clumps in spring when they become over crowded.Position: Full Sun Height: Up to 60cm when fully establishedSpread: Up to 45cm when fully establishedSupplied as 3x Agapanthus ‘Poppin Purple’ plant in a 9cm pot.Delivered with growing and care instructionsImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
