Check out this & our other items on our website www.theshedontheleft.co.uk A very stylish & scarcely seen 1950's fabulous modernist dressing table or desk designed by architect couple John & Sylvia Reid for Stag Furniture as part of their much sought after 'Cumberland' 'C' range which has been fabulously restored or upcycled. A clean, modernist aesthetic that still feels contemporary to this day, it truly was way ahead of its time! The dressing table features two floating pedestals with three large drawers in each which are finished in white (Vintage with Grace Belgium Lace) as per it's original requested design sitting on turned legs. The stylish pedestals are joined by a black melamine-topped surface which has been painted & finished (Vintage with Grace Mr Darcey), below is a very useful drawer which is also finished in black. There is also a large full length mirror, which can be fixed horizontally, vertically or completely removed if required. The mirror has some very minor age marks on it in which are usual for its age which do not obscure the 'view'. Originally designed as part of a modular bedroom system intended for young forward thinking homes in the 1950s, this member of the 'C' range was finished in wonderfully rich walnut. The piece has been sympathetically restored keeping its beautiful original patina & features. There are some very minor marks which are as to be expected for its age, please take a look at the photographs. These do not detract from its look or quality in any way.
