- Chiyogami is a hand silkscreened paper from Japan. It's fibres are longer than many craft papers making it a super flexible material. - Many of the designs come from traditional Kimono motifs. - The papers translucent quality makes it ideal for lampshades & blinds. As light passes through it the beautiful colours glow. - Every sheet of Chiyogami is hand printed so each colour is applied separately. This artisan technique is competing in the modern world with machine production however it holds it's own as far as the finished product is concerned. The quality is much finer. - I make the shades myself in my small studio in Yorkshire. Have a look at my website www.thecreationcrafts.com for other Chiyogami designs as I also make to order. - This shade is 40 cm in diameter & 25 cm high. - The shade conforms to UK lighting standards. - As the Chiyogami paper is hand printed sheet by sheet (96 cm x 64 cm) it is necessary to join the paper on the repeat of the design to have the full length to cover the shade.
