The Seasonal Aisle Cone Face Hanging Figurine Ornament
Description
Nature-inspired the glassblowers to create many of their glass ornaments. The fir cone was one of them. The fact that it was later given a face is probably due to the stories and legends that were told in the evenings in the parlours. Our cone is scaled in a strong red and after painting, it is covered with glass mica. His face, which reminds of a forest hag, is painted with great attention to detail. Finally, this Christmas tree decoration is given a real iron hat. The glass tree decorations have their origin in the area around Lauscha in Thuringia. In the beginning, it was only a substitute for the real fruit, which a poor glassblower could not afford. With time, the variety of glass Christmas tree decorations became ever greater.
