Add RS-232 DCE serial communications support to a desktop or laptop computer and resolve DCE/DTE conflicts directly without the need for additional cross-wired serial cables or adapters.<br><br><b>Serial Port Expansion</b><br>The 3.3ft (1m) Null Modem USB Serial Adapter adds an RS-232 serial DB/DE-9 (female) connector to a desktop or laptop via a USB Type-A port. Secure the adapter to a serial device using pre-installed and removable slotted D-Sub thumbscrews or install the included DB-9 Nuts for compatibility with other serial peripheral devices or cables.<br><br><b>LED Indicators</b><br>Data transmission and reception LED indicators on the adapter provide real-time monitoring of port activity. The USB LED indicates when the adapter has successfully enumerated on the desktop or laptop. All the LEDs aid with diagnostics and troubleshooting.<br><br><b>Seamless Connectivity</b><br>The adapter is compatible with Windows macOS ChromeOS and Linux. Drivers automatically install to Windows 7 and newer versions macOS 10.15 and above and Linux. The USB to RS-232 adapter features COM retention which automatically reassigns the COM port value if the cable is disconnected and reconnected or if the system is rebooted.<br><br><b>Built To Last</b><br>The rugged TPE construction and Level-4 ESD protection (15kV air and 8kV contact) enhance the reliability and longevity of the USB to Serial Adapter.
