Description
Incredibly light, seamless integration, top tier performance; Specialized's Turbo Creo SL completely changes the game when it comes to electric road bikes. The first thing to note about the Creo is the incredibly low weight for an eBike-so much so that it is lighter than many non-electric bikes. The Creo is literally kilos lighter than most of the competition. But how? Specialized have managed this by utilising their top tier FACT 11r carbon to construct the frame. Super light without sacrificing on stiffness. But, more importantly, the Creo features Turbo SL (super light) eBike tech. Weighing in at just 3.7kg for motor and battery with complete integration, the Turbo SL certainly deserves its moniker. The range extender is a stroke of genius from Specialized, and is available as an aftermarket upgrade. With a capacity that is 50% of the integrated battery, you can go further than ever before. The best bit? The additional battery weighs in at just 1kg and will fit into most standard bottle cages-though the kit is supplied with a Specialized Zee cage. Go further without the hassle. The Creo features the Turbo Connect Unit (TCU) that many Turbo riders already know and love. The TCU is essentially the brains of the bike, providing system communication, error messages and connectivity. It also displays battery level for both the internal battery and range extender. The TCU is fully compatible with Specialized’s Mission control app which allows you to fine tune your support modes, plan and record your rides as well as diagnose problems with your bike. The TCU is also fully ANT+ capable; the Turbo motor features Speed, Rider Power and Cadence sensors that will send information straight to your device, or just have it up on the Turbo Connect Display. Easy as that. Another feature that sets the Creo apart from other eRoad bikes is the natural riding feel and superior handling that it provides. Since the Turbo SL has been so seamlessly integrated, it has a low centre of gravity for stability and neutral handling. The open road geometry also means for playful handling and confident steering. But what the Creo boasts which no other eRoad bike does is the Future Shock tech that can be found on Specialized’s Roubaix bikes. Delivering 20mm of travel at the stem, the Future Shock will ensure a smooth ride without sacrificing on speed, handling or comfort. The Comp Evo model is designed to help you tackle the gravel trails, and boasts the new Shimano GRX 1x11 groupset. Offering the simplistic, reliable performance of a 1x system with Shimano's buttery smooth shifting, the Comp SL is a dream to ride. Hydraulic discs take on braking duty, offering powerful stopping power and modulation in all weather conditions so you can ride with confidence. DT R470 wheels are smooth and fast rolling, wrapped in wider 38mm Pathfinder Pro tyres. There is even an x-Fusion Manic Dropper Post thrown in for when the descents get a bit rowdy. Rounding off the spec is the Body Geometry Power saddle, a fan favourite. Battery anxiety? Not with a Turbo SL. The discreet and compact SL Range-Extender Battery provides up to 40 additional miles (64km). More range, more riding.
