Specialized S-Works Diverge STR Gravel Bike Sitting at the top of Specialized's Diverge STR range, the S-Works model benefits from the very best components available, making it hugely fast, fun and capable. Made from FACT 11r carbon, the striking frame has a very clever rear Future Shock built into the top tube that effectively allows the seat tube to move independently of the rest of the frame. This gives up to 30mm of suspension for the rider when seated without any compromise to the bike’s stiffness and efficiency of power transfer. When combined with the front’s 20mm Future Shock headset design, it very effectively isolates the rider from bumps, irregularities in the trail and fatiguing vibrations, giving better control, less tiredness and more traction. Both front and rear systems have hydraulic damping and on-the-fly adjustment whilst the rear shock is also tuneable for rider weight, height and style. Elsewhere, the frame features Specialized’s SWAT internal downtube storage for tools and spares with luggage mounts on the frame and fork for long-distance adventurers. Tyre clearance is good, with space for 700c x 47mm and 650b x 2.1”, giving plenty of potential to build up a very capable and versatile machine for taking on any trail. A hybrid 12-speed groupset comprising of SRAM XX1 Eagle AXS derailleur and 10-50t cassette with RED eTap AXS shifters and hydraulic disc brakes provides a huge range of gears and easy control. SRAM’s AXS system is fully wireless, so with no cables connecting the components, there is nothing to stretch or get contaminated to degrade performance. Bluetooth connectivity enables pairing with a GPS device or smartphone for more information and shifting options and the RED chainset even includes an integrated Quarq power meter for monitoring training effectiveness or race pace. The Roval Terra CLX wheels are incredibly light, tipping the scales at less than 1,300 grams, yet are robust enough to cope with rough gravel tracks and bumpy trails. At 25mm internal width, the rim is a great match with wider tyres, providing cornering support and stability whilst the hooked construction is tubeless-ready for optimum off-road performance. DT Swiss Ratchet EXP internals give very rapid engagement when pressing on the pedals which is ideal for technical climbs as well as improving the freehub's durability. Finishing kit consists of an S-Works carbon seatpost, S-Works Power saddle and a flared Roval Terra carbon handlebar for low weight, excellent control and outstanding comfort.
