During the daytime these charming solar string lights will absorb sunlight, charging the inbuilt re-chargeable battery, and then automatically switch on as it starts to get dark, so once you've positioned them where you want them, you can just leave them to turn themselves on and off again every evening. As long as the solar panel is placed in an unshaded sunny part of your garden, the lanterns can be hung anywhere, adding a touch of soft background lighting to your outdoor entertaining areas.
The lantern cages are a good size, similar to regular lightbulbs or festoon lights, about 10cm long with a 5cm diameter and they are positioned 50cm apart on the black cable, giving you 3.5m of illumination. They can be hung from trees, hedges, along walls, on pagodas, or perhaps hanging from a table parasol.
