Seiko Prospex Diver’s GMT “Marine Green” 1968 Modern Re-interpretation SPB381J1This modern re-interpretation of the 1968 Diver's watch is inspired by Japan’s first hi-beat one-piece Diver’s watch created by Seiko. The success of the 1968 model laid the foundation for Seiko Diver's watch development which for sixty years has innovated in wearable, precise watches for professional and recreational divers. Showcasing the latest Seiko manufacture movement: Benefiting from over 110 years of Seiko’s watchmaking expertise this modern watch is powered by the new in-house Calibre 6R54 and is the first of Seiko’s diving watches with mechanical GMT functionality. The automatic GMT movement can also be manually wound and operates at 21, 600vph with +25 to -15 seconds per day accuracy. Delivering an extended 3 Days (72 hours) of power reserve adds to the convenience and usability. Peace of mind from magnetic resistance of 4, 800 A/m (60 gauss) and with Seiko’s ‘Diashock’ shock protection system built into the calibre. The date of month function can be adjusted conveniently with a quick-change facility. New GMT functionality: The movement lets you independently set the GMT hand of the watch in one-hour increments. With a subtle 24-hour scale on the dial rehaut and the accompanying GMT hand useful functionality is added while maintaining the clean Diver’s watch aesthetic that Seiko are renowned for. Built for wearability: The bracelet fits comfortably due to its low centre of gravity and short-pitch and is equipped with a high quality machined three-fold clasp with secure lock and divers’ extension piece. The indexes and hands are coated with a ‘Lumibrite’ finish to ensure the dial can be read in conditions of low light. Built for durability: The case is sealed and tested for a water resistance of 200m and is ISO 6425 ‘Diver’ rated, able to pass all of the requirements of the most serious of ‘tool’ watch tests including thermal shock, magnetic shielding and corrosion resistance.
