Description
Scarpa Mago Climbing Shoes

The all-new Mago dominates small footholds like no other shoe on the market. New innovative materials and further refined technologies perfect this specialised performance shoe. The highly asymmetric and downturned shape, in combination with a TPS insert and X-Tension rand, work in unison giving climbers arch support, maximum toe power, and precision without sacrificing underfoot sensitivity. A unique multi-panel upper features a textured microfibre toe pocket for comfort and strategically placed panels of perforated microsuede for a glove-like fit. The Mago is the most supportive lace-up in Scarpa's Specialised category and truly excels on micro edges on steep demanding routes.

Microfibre, Soft Touch and Alcantara Upper

Constructed using a microfibre upper, the Scarpa Mago Climbing Shoes are worthy of any outdoor adventure. Designed to provide the right amount of flexibility and support, the upper conforms to the shape of the foot yet, retains its elasticity for a better, more supportive fit. The microfibre upper ensures the shoes hold their shape for longer than other leather equivalents plus, it's soft on the skin for complete comfort. The upper is built with a down-turned design ensuring precise toe placements with high levels of feedback so you can perform to your best ability. The heel is bonded directly to the outsole meaning you get the same level of support and durability in the heel as you do in the outsole. The rubber in the heel protects you from knocks. Added protection also comes from the rubberised toe box which protects the toes from knocks and scrapes, and is ribbed to support secure toe hooking. M50 is Scarpa's softest rubber compound offering the best levels of adaptability to the natural curves of the foot and toes. This morphing rubber compound gives a Shore A rating of 50, making it perfect for use in the toe patches. Completing the upper is a highly asymmetric lacing system that keeps your shoes firmly secured to your foot even on the most uncompromising climbs.

TPS Insert

With a TPS insert, the midsole of the Mago Climbing Shoes from Scarpa provides enhanced support and an anatomical fit that gives a flexible finish. TPS is a 3D moulded insert that has been positioned under the forefoot. It provides you with a customised, anatomical fit to the front area of the shoe. This TPS gives better support for the toes when pushing down hard whilst also helping to improve pulling capabilities and increase precision.

Vibram XS Edge Grip2 Outsole

Develeoped using a high-performance Vibram XS Edge Grip2 rubber outsole, the Mago Climbing Shoes ensure maximum support that allows you to focus your weight on the tiniest of holds and keeps its shape in tough conditions. A truly robust outsole, the XS Edge can endure repeated abuse in hot and cold weather conditions giving you a shoe that can truly perform in all weather conditions. The rigid nature of the outsole supports you during any climb by adapting to the ground below you and bearing your weight as you move from rock type to rock type. The superior rigidness of this shoe is counterbalanced by adaptability and sensitivity. The outsole allows for a more natural feel ensuring you can detect rocks beneath your feet for a barefoot experience. The increase in ground feel allows you to adapt to different terrain so you can ensure hold at all times. A critically tensioned rubber "X" that cradles the forefoot and grasps the heel, enhancing toe power for climbers who like maximum power and sensitivity concentrated into the big toe. The outsole of the Mago Climbing Shoes provides an optimal balance of performance and durability. The Vibram XS Grip2 delivers excellent friction with enough firmness for moderate edging.
