The Nike Flyleather upper, made from at least 50% recycled leather fibre, combined with synthetic materials, uses the back side of the Flyleather, which looks and feels like felted suede. Nike Flyleather in the upper contains at least 50% recycled leather fibre, combined with synthetic materials, for 100% performance. For the first time in Nike SB history, the tape between the midsole and the upper contains Nike Grind material, which is recycled waste (i.e., the scraps) left over from the footwear manufacturing process. The rubber outsole is made from at least 3% Nike Grind material. The rubber has been thinned out in key areas to feel lightweight and broken-in right out of the box. The foam insole with a Zoom Air unit in the heel provides responsive cushioning. Nike Flyleather, made from at least 50% recycled leather fibre, combined with synthetic materials, is produced through an innovative process with a lower impact on climate change versus traditional leather manufacturing. Because it is produced on a roll, Nike Flyleather improves cutting efficiency and creates less waste than traditional cut-and-sew methods for full-grain leather.
