Description
Offering the perfect balance of downhill performance combined with climbing efficiency it's easy to see why the MTN explore 95 is so popular. The weight saving Koroyd tip and Carbon/Flax super fibres are combined with a 3D full woodcore and Spaceframe 2.0 wrap to give the ski power for charging on the way back down. MTN Rocker improves manoeuvrability and handling. It may not be the lightest Backcountry ski, but it certainly is one of the best skiing down the hill, whatever the conditions. Terrain Type & Ability LevelTerrain Type It'll do a bit of everything, even time ripping up pistes. It's best in softer snow whether fresh or skied out, but it'll easily handle firm conditions, basically everything you could find on a typical backcountry ski day.Skier TypeThe MTN 95 is perfect for skiers who want to mix skiing in resort with time in the backcountry. It has plenty of performance but it's also an easy ski to use, more playful than poweful, so anyone from a confident intermediate is going to enjoy it.OverviewShapeNo surprises with the 95mm waist width as the clue is the name. It's the sweetspot dimension for an all round BC ski. The 18m (177cm) radius is a good match for this and works well with the medium stiffness flex, making it feel stable on all conditions but still easy to turn.RockerThe MTN Tip Rocker is ideal for all terrain use, with camber underfoot for good grip and response, with rocker at the tip for ease of turn initiation whatever the conditions.CorePre-shaped 3D caruba woodcore ensures great ski-to-snow contact and reduces vibrations, with less weight. A Titanal insert, edge-to-edge underfoot, runs throughout the ski for maximal power and increased hard snow edging. C/FX is a unique fibre layer consisting of carbon and flax woven together, running tip-to-tail. It combines the incredible strength, stability and minimal weight of carbon fibre with the increased level of dampening and vibration absorption of the flax. The result is power and stability like metal, at a fraction of the weight, with a smooth ride in the varying terrains of the backcountry.Construction3D Spaceframe means less material in key areas along the length of the ski, reducing overall weight for easier ascents. The mix of cap and sidewall means great durability, good precision and tips and tails that feel supple and smooth.Key FeaturesKoroyd TipMore float, less flop. Super light honeycomb/Koroyd Tip insert, reinforced with ABS. Less weight at the extremities with increased dampening from Koroyd dramatically increases manoeuvrability and ease of steering on rockered skis.Skin Tail ClipPre-cut notch in the tail of the ski allows quick, easy and secure attachment of climbing skins.eB tester’s comments: Mark (Trainer) For a lightweight ski I was surprised how well it handled all over the mountain. Great off to the side but I particularly enjoyed how fun and agile it was on firm snow. Not just for tourers!
