GORE-TEX Upper
In the upper of the Hike Trainer Mid Walking Boot there is a GORE-TEX membrane which will act as a barrier between moisture and the inside of the boot. When the boot is exposed to rainfall or damp ground, the membrane leaps into action, working to seal out the moisture and preventing it from reaching the feet. This will remove the risk of having damp and cold socks all day, meaning that you will stay extremely comfortable. Even though the membrane seals out moisture, it will still allow air to penetrate through the membrane. As your feet begin to warm up, the air inside is able to escape out where it is then replaced by cooler air from outside. This will work over a long period of time to guarantee ventilation. The upper is extremely tough and durable in its construction. Strong overlays will reinforce the sides of the boot. Covering the toes, the material thickens, which will provide complete protection from bumps or knocks to the forefoot. Similarly, the rearfoot has and extremely solid shield surrounding it, holding the heel in a healthy upright position. At the heart of the shoe, the special cushioning foam of the Salewa GumFlate midsole which adapts to the ground on contact to offer greater comfort by reducing pressure under the foot. With an Ortholite insole, it offers the ultimate in comfort, cushioning and breathability. The midsole also features the trademark 3F Salewa which connects the instep area of the shoe with the sole and heel; ensuring flexibility, support, and the correct fit where it's needed.
Vibram Outsole
With an aggressive tread design to make sure that you are always under control, the Vibram outsole will give you confidence when on volatile ground. The rubber is able to form an extremely strong grip with a wide range of different surface, ensuring that you are anchored to the ground all of the time. Extremely durable and abrasion-resistant, this will work to maintain the shape and definition of the outsole, making sure that you will have long-lasting functionality, thus improving the lifespan of the boots. An aggressive tread design with deep lugs and grooves will also mean that you won't slip on wet ground.
