Hand knotted in India, this rug has a classic yet modern design, highlighted by its stylish medallion pattern and subtle colour scheme. The pile is made of 70% pure virgin wool, and is finished with 30% of the finest silk. The silk content is a common element of the pattern, which also gives the rug a softer feel and a shiny finish. Tightly knotted, with a density of approximately 300,000 knots/m², the pattern is perfectly reproduced, while making the rug extremely sturdy and hard wearing too. The densely-woven knots result in a dense pile, which perfectly reproduces the pattern. Its elaborate appearance has been perfected through a complex process. This wonderful collection has been washed several times and dried in the sun. Each hand-knotted rug is unique, and can be considered to be a work of art in its own right. The technique has been handed down from generation to generation, making each rug into something really special.
