FReeSTYLe POWeRHOUSe THAT’S NOT FOR THe FAINT HeARTeDThe Helix is aimed at experienced riders who are looking for a high-performance freestyle board that is equally happy hitting giant park booters as it is blasting around the mountain. Built around a state of the art asymmetric twin shape and featuring Rides powerful Carbon Array 3 construction, this unique snowboard is the perfect choice for those snowboarders who are unwilling to compromise on any aspect of how the board rides. So, if you’re an advanced rider and you’re looking for a board that you know is going to deliver, no matter how hard or how extreme you push it, then this award-winning game changing snowboard could just be what you’re looking for.Rider StyleAdvanced to expert freestyle riders who are looking for a high-performance board that is equally happy hitting giant park booters as it is blasting around the mountain.Shape OverviewThe award-winning Helix is built around a state of the art asymmetric twin-tip shape that has been specially created to deliver the ultimate in response and control. Featuring an advanced blunt profile tip and tail shape, the Helix looks for all the world like a park board, but the reality is, it’s a lot more than that. That blunt tip and tail shape has been specially engineered to deliver a level of performance over the whole mountain that you wouldn’t expect from this type of board. Key to that outstanding performance is the Asymmetric sidecut design. This innovative anatomically correct technology places a deeper sidecut on the heelside edge, providing more leverage on a backside turn, offsetting the bodies inability to drive power onto the heelside edge in the same way it does on the toeside. This improves heelside turn initiation and control and delivers a more balanced feel overall.ProfileThe Helix’s Asymmetrical Twin Hybrid Camber profile combines a small amount of rocker at the contact points with a more aggressive and responsive camber under the feet. The rocker frees up the contact points giving the board a slightly more playful and predictable feel as well as adding a little lift in the pow. However, as the profile is predominantly camber, you still get all the pop, power, drive and stability that only a traditional camber profile can deliver. ConstructionInternally the Helix doesn’t hold back underlining the performance nature of this board. Heading up the high-end construction is the Performance core. Constructed from a combination of high strength Aspen, poppy Bamboo and lightweight Paulownia, it provides the perfect balance of strength, power and light weight. To this Ride then add their Carbon Slimrod 2.0 technology. Running from the inserts out to the tip and tail, Slimrods carbon and Urethane construction add pop (without the stiffness generally associated with snappy boards), while also adding an extra level of dampening alongside the Double Impact Plates. Now to deliver that perfect balance of performance and freestyle feel the Helix’s structural layers are formed from Ride’s advanced Hybrid Glass. This combination of triaxial on top, biaxial on the base delivers the optimum balance of torsion and stiffness for the ultimate in response and control. The structural layers are then further reinforced with the addition of the Carbon Array 3 reinforcing. This places three carbon strips running from the contact points through the binding zones at both the tip and tail. This powers up the contact points for a faster and more responsive tip and tail engagement without compromising torsional twist through the centre of the board.BaseHigh-end sintered 4000 Ptex base material that is more durable, harder and faster than extruded.
