Just because they are slightly older, does not mean you should compromise on safety; The Mako Elite 2 has got you covered on this point and also has some extra cool features, which will be a hit with your child.Firstly, the Mako Elite 2 has been tested to the stringent R129 safety standards; it has not only met these requirements, but it has also exceeded them and even been awarded a coveted ADAC good rating! The seat is also classed as i-Size, this means if you have an i-Size certified car this seat will fit, but if your car has Isofix connectors it will likely fit. The Isofix connectors give extra stability to the seat, while also keeping it in place when your child is not in the seat - an unsecured car seat can cause injury to a front passenger or driver in the event of a crash.Now we'll talk about the bit your kid will really enjoy, but so will you!! Built into the headrest of the seat is an integrated speaker as well as a place to connect an MP3 player so your little one can listen to their own choice of music, whether that be Baby Shark or the latest chart hits, which means mum or dad can listen to their own choice of music for a change - everyone's happy!The height-adjustable backrest means your little one is both comfortable as well as safe, as the optimised seatbelt guide in the headrest helps to ensure the belt is in the correct place. The backrest is ergonomically designed to support a healthy posture. There are padded wings at shoulder height that adjust with the backrest too to give even more comfort.Moving onto the actual seating area itself, this has foam that adapts to your child's body shape to give them the highest levels of comfort and there is even an extendable leg rest, it pulls out from under the seat and will provide optimal support as they grow. To keep them thermally comfortable while they are travelling, the seat also has built-in ventilation in the back of the seat and mesh linings in the covers to provide airflow.Recaro has also included its detachable Advanced Side Protection (ASP). This ASP, when installed on the side of the car seat nearest the door, helps to absorb forces in the event of a side-impact collision, reducing the forces on your child.
