It measures 1 meter across and is made from canvas fabric so its ultra comfy too. The swing is held in place with super-soft poly hemp rope so it will be kind to your little one's hands and they are height adjustable. The ropes attach to the frame using metal attachments which encircle the pole so no drilling is required.The swing is made from Scots Pine timber which is sourced sustainably. The timber has been vacuum pressure treated to protect it against wood rot and infestation and as such, it is relatively low maintenance but Plum do recommend that you treat them with a water based stain each year to get the most from your set. The wood can be susceptible to changes in the environment it can cause some cracks in the wood, this is nothing to worry about and is a natural occurrence, Plum tests their 3.3m frame to hold a weight of a polar bear (500kg!) for over an hour and there is no damage to the frame so you can be sure you are purchasing a quality product. As a result of the pressure treatment, the wood can start to show some green mottling, this is completely harmless but is caused by the copper in the treatment reacting with the resin in the timber. The Spider Monkey Swing has a 5-year manufacturers warranty against rot and is supplied flat packed. They advise it should take 2 adults around 2.5 hours to assemble it and easy to follow instructions are included. As well as all the screws and bolts etc you need to assemble the set, there are also ground anchors included for concreting the set into the ground.
