Special focus has gone into the design of the watch’s innovative depth gauge system, with an even more finely milled channel. Water enters the 12 o’clock inlet on the watch’s sapphire glass lens without penetrating the internal environment that holds an Oris self winding engine at its heart. Once air is compressed during the water pressure experienced during a dive, water can enter the hole, filling the channel and creating a watermark against a vibrant yellow water depth gauge meter around the edge of the dial. To pair with the improved legibility of Oris’ depth gauge system, the back of the case features a metres to feet conversion chart that is now positioned at a 90 degree angle to the 12 o’clock position for quick and effortless referencing. The Oris Aquis Depth Gauge watch, with its robust 500 meter water resistant stainless steel case, features a matching steel three link bracelet in a mix of brushed and polished finishes that secures with a folding clasp and diver’s extension facility. It is also integrated with Oris’ Quick Strap Change system, enabling the steel bracelet to be switched over with a back rubber strap alternative without the need for any tools. The Oris Aquis Depth Gauge watch is powered by the Oris 733 self winding movement, delivering a 38 hour power reserve and beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.
