Nike’s mission to reduce and repurpose its waste shows no sign of slowing down, if the rate of Space Hippie releases is anything to go by. This 01 model is crafted from at least 50 percent recycled materials by weight. Its sock-like Space Waste Yarn upper is woven using threads of around 90 percent recycled polyester, derived from factory scraps, old tees and plastic bottles. Crater Foam forms the bright orange midsole — flecked, as usual, with NikeGrind rubber — while the insole is made from off-cuts of ZoomX cushioning, turning today’s trash into tomorrow’s energy-returning treasure.
