Foscarini Wall light Gold/Metal Metal. Dimensions: L 18 x Depth 13 cm x H 30 cm. Created by the famous Italian designer Ferrucio Laviani, the Newton wall lamp plays with light and transparency with great elegance. This lamp consists of a transparent PMMA prism placed on a fine metal structure. Like a precious display unit, the metal support with its curved lines highlights the transparent, pure geometric form. The transparent prism is located just above the LED light source: when the lamp is on, the prism lights up, emitting a soft light. This wall lamp provides double lighting, direct light directed upwards and downwards. The transparent prism of the Newton wall lamp makes direct reference to the cover of the legendary group Pink Floyd's album Dark Side of the Moon. Designer Ferruccio Laviani explains: "Each of us is fascinated by images, texts and sounds that never leave us and end up becoming minor obsessions. For me, that’s the case with Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. This transparent prism which captures a ray of light to transform it into a rainbow is reminiscent of my adolescence, and Newton is a kind of homage to this image."
