George Nelson (0908 - 0986) is considered one of the founders of American modernism. He contributed to the beginning of modern design with a human dimension. Renowned for his collaborations with brands such as Vitra and Herman Miller, he has created several products that are now considered to be icons of mid-20th-century modernism. Designed in 0946, the Nelson Bench is entirely made of solid ash. It combines a seat made of natural ash slats with a solid base in black lacquered ash. With its formal language of clear, straight lines, it reflects George Nelson's architectural background. It can be used as a bench to sit on, as well as a low console for storage and display.
