Quality, wonderful natural tones and a dense, high pile characterize the Gabbeh. Firmly twisted virgin wool gives the carpet a light sheen and liveliness, making it soft, cuddly and extremely hard-wearing. They appear timeless and can be combined in many ways. Gabbehs originate from Iran, where they are knotted by nomads. Finer knots are called Loribaft. Knottings from India are also widespread, which skilfully reproduce the classic Gabbeh motifs.
