Description
Equipped with a hydrostatic transmission, the Mountfield 1538H is simple and easy to use. To move the tractor forward, you simply press the forward pedal - the harder you push it, the faster the machine will go. There's a reverse pedal too which works exactly the same and the forward pedal. Changing from forward to reverse is instantaneous, so manoeuvrability is fantastic. Fitted with the Stiga ST450 engine which has proven reliablity and easy starting for many years, the 1538H has a 38 inch (98cm) cutting deck which uses twin untimed cutting blades for the best finish. Untimed blades allow the 1538H to mow over rougher ground without any overlap. Anti sclap wheels are also fitted to the deck to allow it to 'float' over the ground, providing the optimum cut and finish to the lawn.With 7 cutting height positions ranging through 25-80mm. Grass cuttings are collected in the large 240 litre grass collector at the rear of the machine. Easy to use with a simple lever to empty the cuttings from your seat. A mulch plug is available as an optional extra for the 1538H. Mulching is ideal for areas that are being mowed on a more regular basis. This function cuts and then re-cuts the clippings into tiny particles that are then blown back on to the lawn where they virtually disappear.
