Description
La Fumée is an ode smoke from burning fragrant resins through smoke, the root of perfumery. It creates an impression of smouldering incense resins, wisps of smoke and ancient rituals. As smoke lifts away from the embers, it brings with it a dramatic blend of spices: cool Guatemalan cardamom and coriander seeds against warm cumin. A fusion of resins of elemi, cistus labdanum and frankincense elicits an intriguing translucent smokiness, above an austere yet fragrant kindling of cedar, sandalwood and leathery birch tar. Frankincense is harvested throughout the Middle East and Africa. It has been used throughout history as a spiritual essence, an offering to the gods.
