Upholstered in a premium viscose fabric, the Wool Sublime combines layers of pocket springs anddeep natural fillings, resulting in a comfortable and medium feel. The mattress features a traditional hand tufted finish to ensure the fillings stay in place, with a single black tuft in the corner to indicate the use of Hampshire wool. As well as Hampshire wool; one of the softest wools available in the UK, the mattress layers of fillings also include cashgora wool, silk and soft English spun cotton. The mattress features a unique interior made up of 2000 inner pocket springs, with a 1000 and 2000 tablet comfort layer of pocket springs on either side. Pocket springs are small in diameter compared to traditional open coils and housed in their own cloth sleeves that are totally independent of any surrounding springs. Reserved for premium mattresses, an added feature is side-stitching; a labour intensive and intricate technique that takes many years for craftsmen to master.. The process of side-stitching involves sewing the outer rows of springs to the mattress border by using high-tension twine and a long upholstery needle. As well as preventing the border from bowing out, side-stitching provides edge-to-edge support across the mattress width, increasing the sleeping surface by 20.
