Design by Raf Reyes: strawberries were first discovered in ancient Rome, where they were considered a symbol of Venus, the goddess of love ~ the fruit was so prized that only the wealthy and elite were able to truly really enjoy them. Fast-forward to the 18th century, when French horticulturist Amédée-François Frézier introduced the strawberry to Chile and Peru. The fruit thrived in the warm climate and soon became a staple crop there. Now, strawberries are a symbol of summer, love, and sweetness.
