Description
Recalling the vivid glazes and carnation motifs of William De Morgan"s (18391917) tiles. Strongly influenced by Persian and Iznik motifs, De Morgan designed tiles for Morris & Co. in the 1860s and 70s; one of his finest tile panels was commissioned for Membland Hall near Plymouth c.1876, which featured blue flowers scrolling amidst green foliage. Recalling the pattern, a sundress with a generous, flaring shape; the bodice is biascut and has some natural stretch.
