Mavic Ellipse Pro Carbon Track Wheelset The Ellipse Pro Carbon has evolved from Mavic’s vast experience with track wheelsets to be their stiffest, lightest and most robust option for intense fixed gear track or crit racing. The rims are realised in a sophisticated 3K carbon fibre that has its material plies oriented perfectly to deliver vast amounts of lateral stiffness while remaining lightweight. The 64mm deep and 26mm wide rim profile has been tuned in the wind-tunnel to lower drag markedly. At the same time, the 19mm internal width coerces tubeless-ready or standard clincher tyres into performing with lower rolling resistance and increased traction. Mavic has utilised their iTgMAX brake surface technology into the rims to help manage temperature build-up from hard or prolonged braking when using rim brake calipers. Burly aluminium hubs grant all of the stiffness required when confronted with high power outputs and provide a solid base for the spokes to anchor into. The spokes are strong and durable and feature elliptical cross-sections to further improve aerodynamics.
