Description
A sense of endlessness: the spiral-shaped Piola LED pendant light with integrated SMD LEDs, 2,700 Kelvin The Piola LED pendant light is as multifaceted as its inventor - the French-born architect and designer Christophe Mathieu, who was born in Germany, grew up on the Canary Islands and lives in Barcelona. Thanks to its spiral design, the light is both emitted downwards without obstruction and reflected indirectly, while the lampshade itself is gently illuminated by the light passing through the slits. The integrated LED module with high-quality SMD LEDs creates pleasant illumination with warm white light. Mathieu's declared aim was to capture the lightness and feeling of endlessness of a spiral in Piola. It consists of a central metal tube painted in the same colour as the lampshade and suspended from the canopy by a wire rope. The five-metre-long PVC and Poly ribbon that forms the lampshade is artfully arranged around it. This asymmetry forms a refreshing contrast to the uniformity of the axis running through the centre and underlines the sense of flowing movement that Piola imitates.
