These carpets are hand-knotted in Mashad. They often have a large, centrally placed medallion of beautiful floral motifs, a typical oriental motif. The medallion shades and the wool of the carpet are very soft. The Maschad carpets are often reminiscent of some of the Starkey carpets. The durable Mashad rug is very pithy and sturdy.
