Dating back to the label’s very first show in 1989, the ‘Tabi’ is a signature silhouette from Maison Margiela. Famously rebellious, the Parisian fashion house continues to challenge classic perceptions of shape and style. The split toe may appear devilish, but it actually inspired by Japanese work booties called jika-tabi, giving the design its unique structure. Crafted in Italy from bovine leather, these ankle boots are set on a low, geometric heel. A button fastening secures the design, finished with a signature stitch mark at the rear.
