Description
VL38 table lamp – a design classic by Vilhelm Lauritzen now with LED The VL38 LED table lamp does not just look retro, it is retro. The first design of this model dates back to the late 1930s and was originally created for the Danish broadcasting house in Copenhagen. Nowadays, this design by Vilhelm Lauritzen (1894-1984), a famous Danish architect, is fitted with LEDs and thus represents a contemporary lighting solution for consumers. The angle of the head and standpipe can be easily adjusted and the brightness level can be switched between two levels (50% and 100%) using the switch integrated into the base – it also includes a memory function. The VL38 LED table lamp also comes with a timer, which automatically switches the light off after four or eight hours. The great architectural works of Vilhelm Lauritzen include the Radiohuset broadcasting house in Copenhagen, Copenhagen’s first airport and the Nørrebro theatre. The Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen added the series of lights designed for the broadcasting house to its range and mass-produced them. Note: the brass parts on the light are untreated and may, therefore, develop a patina over time.
