Description
VL38 LED wall light by Vilhelm Lauritzen with plug The VL38 LED wall light is a real classic. The model originally dates back to the 1930s, when the architect Vilhelm Lauritzen was drawing up his plans for the Danish broadcasting house “Radiohuset” in Copenhagen. He designed lights for the building, which were later named “VL38” after the designer and were mass-produced by the Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen. Lauritzen (1894-1984) is one of the best-known Danish architects. The VL38 has been slightly changed to modernise it: LEDs now serve as the light source rather than traditional light bulbs. The lampshade on the wall light can be both angled and rotated. The brightness can be switched between two brightness levels (50% and 100%) using the switch on the wall bracket, and the light also includes a memory function. Furthermore, the VL38 LED wall light comes with a timer, which automatically switches the light off after four or eight hours. Note: the brass parts on the light are untreated and may, therefore, develop a patina over time.
