A driver converts mains voltage (240V AC) to 12V DC. Our range of efficient kitchen lights run on a low voltage, this conserves energy without compromising on luminosity. Every light that we sell has a Colour Wattage rating. For example, if you have a light rated at 2.6W and you have 3 of them, your total Colour Wattage consumption would be 7.8W. To put this simply, your drivers Colour Wattage rating must be equal to or greater than 7.8W in order for this to work (pulling through more watts than a driver is rated to will cause the driver to blow). We know that this can sound a little tricky so in order to save you the hassle of working this out, all our light kits include a driver that is specifically designed to work safely and efficiently with your chosen lights. How to Mount? These lights are designed to be surface mounted inside the top of a cupboard or drawer. Each light should be installed facing downwards as pictured in order to fill your unit with light. The sensor located to the side of the light fitting will turn the light off when an item is within a certain range of it (a unit door for example). When the door is opened, it will move away from the sensor causing the light to power on and illuminate your units. The light will then simply turn off when the door is closed again. Each light is supplied with 2 low profile mounting brackets that the strip light will sit it once mounted, this is fixed using the supplied fixing screws. The sensor is built into the light itself so no need to mount anything else to your doors. You can now connect the cable on the light to the supplied driver and connect that to the mains. Once connected to power, the lights will automatically turn on when movement is detected as mentioned above. No individual light switches are required for this strip light. We also sell a 2m extension cable allowing a longer run from the light to the driver. Our lights pack the punch of a halogen bulb with the life and energy efficiency of an LED. Each light has a diffused cover, so no individual LED points are visible, providing a whole beam effect. Each bulb will last for over 30,000 hours and on average, will last 16 years. After this period the bulbs will only reduce in brightness, meaning they will continue to work.
