Inspired by a single-button chronograph produced by Longines in the 1930’s, the remarkable Longines Heritage Avigation Type A-7 watch brings attention to its key distinguishing detail: the dial. The stunning black dial improved by glow in the dark Superluminova is shifted exactly 40% to the right, a unique yet purposeful orientation that was originally engineered to allow pilots to read the indices effortlessly without having to release their hands from the plane’s control yoke.. Just like the original 1930’s model, the Longines Heritage Avigation Type A-7 watch is handsomely engineered in stainless steel and measures to 41mm in size. It’s large, oversized pusher is purposely designed for easy operation, even with thick pilots gloves on, while the square angular lugs and dark brown alligator leather strap allow the piece to sit comfortably against the skin. Housed within the Longines Heritage watch is the L788 automatic winding movement, a Swiss watch calibre that provides central hands for hours, minutes and chronograph seconds, small seconds at 6 o’clock, 30 minutes counter at 12 o’clock, a date window and a power reserve of 54 hours. Sapphire crystal glass treated with anti-reflective coating protects the piece while the iconic cathedral-style hands and large Arabic numerals deliver effortless legibility in all lighting.
