In this listing we are pleased to offer a nice mid century pendant lamp with real copper shade. The latter means that is is not a more typical aluminium shade with copper-colored varnish layer but 100% copper. The cover disc on top of the black cylindric bulb holder & the original ceiling cover/canopy are also made of copper. The black cylinder with the suspension mechanism is made of steel. The diffuser that clicks into the cover at the bottom of the shade is made of plastic. The shade is coated white on the inside for optimal reflection. The lamp is not marked. Style & finish date the lamp to around 1970-1975. Manufacturer us unknown but the use of copper & steel does indicate a good quality manufacture & hence probably by a well known brand. The lamp takes 1 E27 light bulb with screw fitting. We have fitted it with 190 cm / 74.80 inches of new cord so ready for high ceilings. Measurements: Height of the lamp: 28 cm / 11.02 inches Diameter of he shade at its widest point: 29 cm / 11.42 inches Condition: Good. No deformations in the shade. The outside of the copper has quite a lot of tiny to small paint splashes. These are made of white colored acrylic paint & are not easy to remove without affecting the transparent varnish layer over the copper. So if you really want to remove them you will have to remove the entire varnish layer that protects the copper from staining. On the other hand, all dots are so small (needle point size) that they do not stand out in daily use & certainly not from a certain distance. Next to the paint dots there are scratches in the varnish layer & on top of the shade there are two spots where - probably - a larger paint splatter has been removed. The diffuser is in undamaged condition, inclusive of the three protrusions that go into the shade. The diffuser does have normal age-related discoloration. The coating on the inside of the shade is in good condition. There are several scratches around the opening on top where the suspension mechanism that holds the bulb rubs against the paint. The black coating of the steel cylinder has several scratches. The copper ceiling canopy lacks a small ring at the opening at the bottom (diameter is 14 millimeters) & the copper has a kind of a rash. Apart from the points mentioned above the lamp has normal signs of age & use. Please refer to the pictures to get the best impression. We have many more pictures available of this item.
