Lezyne offers both a HP and HV version of every bike pump for both road and mountain bikes. "HP" stands for "High Pressure". Road bike tyres are thin, low volume, and require higher pressures to run well (anywhere between 90 and 160 PSI). Our HP pumps are designed to make it easier to pump up road bike tyres to those pressures by using smaller pump barrels. "HV" stands for "High Volume". Most mountain bike tyres these days are run between 2.0" and 3.0" wide. Requiring so much air to fill up these tyres, we developed our HV pumps with bigger pump barrels to push more air into the tyres, making inflation of mountain bike tyres faster and easier.
