We all know that Triathletes have different needs for their helmets, and Lazer's new Tardiz delivers just that. Aerodynamics, ventilation, and performance. Lazer's Tardiz II is a cross between a TT (aerodynamics) and a road helmet (ventilation and comfort), but with a very clear focus on the needs of triathlon riders. The Tardiz was the first helmet designed exclusively with the specific needs of multi-hour triathlon racing in mind. Namely, world class aerodynamic performance without the risk of overheating. This is achieved not only by strategically positioned vents to ensure airflow over the rider's head, but also by the inclusion of Aquavent technology. The Aquavent is a spring-loaded ventilation port on the top surface of the helmet which delivers riders with the option of pouring water into the helmet to prevent overheating while riding. This is achieved by simply pressing the vent cover down with your water bottle and dumping in cooling water. Special perforated EVA padding and EVS channelling allows the water to filter down the back of your head and not down your face. Despite these ventilation, cooling and comfort features, none of the aerodynamic potential of the Tardiz II is lost. Dual Layer Aerodynamics, a front smooth surface, and a back dimpled surface, provides the best possible airflow over and around the helmet. Soft ear flaps make for a great fit and quick on and offs in transition, while the Tardiz II's eyewear channels make it easy to fit around your favourite eyewear, without interference between the arms and ear covers.
