Breathable Mesh Upper
The upper construction of the Helios III incorporated EVA foam with a breathable mesh that encases each foot in breathable comfort. The mesh allows air to fully permeate the entire upper providing a constant supply of fresh, cool air while simultaneously forcing out hot, muggy air. An external high-frequency skeleton is combined with the mesh to provide lightweight structural integrity, keeping your foot secure within the shoes. Supporting the upper are microfibre reinforcements to promote anti-abrasive properties and prevent rocks from damaging the material and debris from entering the shoes, keeping you comfortable at all times. Inside the shoes features a non-slip mesh lining that prevents in shoe-slippage from occurring during runs. Furthermore, The Helios III features a 4mm Ortholite Mountain Ergonomic footbed that is extremely breathable for a cooler foot. The unique open cell structure creates a moisture management system that wicks sweat and dries quickly while offering long-term cushioning. The insole will retain over 95% of its thickness over time and won't flatten out. The footbed also features anti-microbial agents preventing the growth of odour-causing microbes, keeping your shoes smelling fresher for longer.
Injected MEMlex EVA MidsoleThe Helios III utilises an Injection Moulded MEMlex EVA midsole which differs from the standard compression moulded EVA midsoles for a high degree of cushioning and a better elasticity of the compound. These features assist the propulsion phase of the gait cycle, making these shoes ideal for use on off-road trails. Furthermore, EVA-injected midsoles drastically reduce the squash effect of the EVA over time, allowing the compound to maintain the same characteristics and high performance for its entire duration.
FriXion XT OutsoleGripping the ground with ease, the outsole section engages a dual-density sole. In the La Sportiva Helios, you can expect a full-length FriXion XT compound and the VA Wave tread pattern. These improve the shoe's flexibility, grip, and traction on varied trail surfaces. It also incorporates a grippy rear zone to promote the push in climb and hold downhill, shock absorbing and long-lasting rear.
