Waterproof Upper
Be ready for anything with KEEN.DRY waterproof protection. Developed to provide durability and breathability, the Ridge Flex has been constructed using a waterproof leather and performance mesh upper. The leather keeps the feet protected from debris and sharp objects as well as minimising the risks of wear and tear whilst the performance mesh allows the feet to breathe by increasing ventilation. The lightweight and supportive mesh swathes the foot in breathable comfort to ensure you remain cool and comfortable at all times. The mesh allows cool air to flow throughout the upper whilst, at the same time allowing hot humid air to escape so you can remain cool, dry and comfortable at all times. KEEN.DRY technology is also incorporated into the upper to provide resistance against sweat and moisture which is inevitable during exercise. The breathable membrane keeps your feet cool, dry and comfortable as it wicks away the sweat and moisture so you can focus on your performance without discomfort or distraction. The waterproof nature of KEEN.DRY keeps you protected when the weather takes a turn for the worst. A leather mud shield protects the upper from loose debris and mud whilst the injected TPU heel-capture system locks in the heel for added stability. The upper features KEEN.BELLOWS FLEX technology to provide the shoe with a long life span. Where shoes usually crack and weaken over time the Ridge Flex last longer, thanks to their durable flex nature which requires 60% less energy to bend, making each step feel easier. Completing the upper is a speed-lace webbing system that locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides. EVA Midsole
Constructed using an EVA midsole, the Ridge Flex provides comfortable cushioning that keeps you going all day long. The dual-density EVA provides significant cushioning and comfort to help improve the level of your performance so you can stay at your optimum level, for longer. Holding excellent cushioning abilities, the midsole absorbs shocks as you move throughout the gait cycle, providing resilient cushioning and reducing the risks of potential injury. A removable dual-density EVA insole also features within the midsole to provide added cushioning and support. The insole sits comfortably under the foot and can be easily removed if you'd prefer not to use it. As well as this, Eco Anti-Odour features in the midsole to offer natural odour control, eliminating odour-causing microbes and ensuring your shoes smell fresher for longer. Completing the midsole is an internal shank that delivers lightweight support and reduces the chance of ankle rolling or injury by providing a bit more stability to the foot whilst on rough terrain. Traction Outsole
Providing ultimate, all-around protection, the Ridge Flex features a KEEN.ALL-TERRAIN rubber outsole. The durable rubber provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain; it works to protect itself from damage, and protect users from losing control and slipping. It is also highly durable meaning no matter what you throw at it, the Ridge Flex will perform time and time again. This high-traction rubber promotes grip on a multitude of surfaces while delivering the durability you need to go the distance. Completing the outsole are 5mm multi-directional lugs that provide meaningful traction on tough terrain. The lugs dig into the ground, anchoring you in place. This will also benefit you by acting as a solid base for you to push off from when taking a stride, as well as digging into the ground when braking and changing direction.
