Located in the upper just below the lacing, this area well known in other boots for tearing as it flexes and compresses whilst hiking, taking a toll on the boots overall construction. With Keen.Bellows Flex technology, this area flexes like a bellow, reducing friction when compressed thereby requiring 60 less energy to bend. This makes each step feel easier, enabling you to hike further and longer.The upper of the Ridge Flex Mid WP made from a mixture of leather and performance mesh, which combine to ensure a supple, lightweight design. The fabric lined with Keen Dry, a proprietary waterproof but breathable membrane to ensure your feet stay dry regardless of the conditions. Moreover, the shoe rolls up to encompass the toe-box, to offer added protection. The Keen All-Terrain rubber outsole unit mounted through direct injection moulding forming a low-density EVA midsole that provides a high level of underfoot cushioning. The Keen All-Terrain utilises 5mm multi-directional aggressive lugs to provide traction on a variety of terrains. A removable PU foam fitted to the footbed for additional arch support for first-time hikers. To ensure support for a lightweight boot Keen fitted a Stability shank, that provides structural rigidity and a TPU Heel capture system for additional stability, reducing the effects of heel lift, one of the primary causes of blisters on the heel.The womens Ridge Flex Mid waterproof hiking boots are best suited for day-hikers due to their highly durable and lightweight construction.
