Students will design and build up to 9 fully-functioning models, write computer programs, and use the Robotics programming software to communicate with and operate the models to solve challenge activities outlined in the lesson plans. The set includes over 800 knex parts, robotics programming software, control box, 4 motors, 1 push-button sensor, 1 distance sensor, 1 tri-color LED, 1 color/light sensor, and a downloadable teachers guide with 5 progressive lesson plans. 9 models include biped robot, line tracker, aeroplane, model ball factory, basketball hoop, search and rescue, dog and car bot. Every model is capable of measuring distance between objects, detecting sound and light and responding to touch. Students can connect the knex interface to a PC, program and test in real time and when the program is complete it can be downloaded onto the interface for remote running. They can program, control and receive feedback (for debugging) without wires; they will be learning without realising theyre doing it.
