Unlike other mortars and pestles, this stylish design features a reversible bamboo lid that fulfils several functions. First of all, it keeps the mortar clean and dust-free while its deep groove provides a secure hold for the pestle. If you remove it and turn it around, the lid can be used as a storage surface for ingredients or even as a small cutting board. The heavy mortar and pestle are made of the same hard-wearing granite stone and are therefore suitable for crushing garlic, grinding spices, pounding herbs, and making pesto and salsas.
