Description
St. John's Wort is perhaps best known for its medicinal properties; in tablet form, it allieviates depression and increases resilience. It should come as no surprise, therefore, that Hypericum 'Gemo' is an exceptionally durable variety that can tolerate both shade and drought. Even in poor soil, this hardy shrub will produce small, bright, yellow flowers in midsummer, each of which has a spectacular collection of golden stamens at its centre. These blooms look fabulous against the plant's bushy, semi-evergreen foliage, which has a neat, rounded habit. Although best suited to a mixed border, Hypericum 'Gemo' can also be admired on its own.
