Designed to reduce the risk of being hit on the side of the leg and knee, the wing adds another layer of protection, without a huge sacrifice in weight. The pads also utilise the Diffuser foam instep, which comes to the fore during particularly long innings, when the soft and supple material reduces soreness and rubbing. It also gives yet another layer of protection at the bottom of the batting pad, which can also be overlooked.
