Grace Rowan is a contemporary painter, creating abstract landscapes in bright fluid acrylics. Her work is a colourful celebration of natural landscapes and our deep connection to the earth. Her paintings are highly textured and layers of transparent colour are used to explore the reflection of natural light and hidden layers within the natural environment. A central theme of her work is the visual symmetry of land, water and sky as they converge upon a common horizon. Grace's passion for art began in her youth. She initially pursued a career using 'art as therapy' in her work as an occupational therapist, eventually launching her career as a full-time visual artist in 2006. Grace's work as an artist is deeply connected to her spiritual practices which include transcendental meditation and yoga.
