Description
Ibiza pendant lamp with handmade bamboo shade The Ibiza pendant lamp is a product by Good & Mojo, the sustainable brand of the Dutch lighting manufacturer It's about Romi. Its shade was woven by hand in Vietnam and has an interesting shape that is reminiscent of a large sun hat with a wavy edge. However, the designers were inspired by the island of Ibiza with its mountains and hills for the shape of the shade. Good & Mojo is dedicated to the distribution of sustainable and good lamps and thus does good for people and the environment at the same time. Like all lamps of the label, the shade of this pendant lamp is also made of a sustainable material. Bamboo is one of the core materials of the label and is characterised by its versatility. Bamboo grows very quickly, up to one metre a day, and can be harvested in 3 to 5 years. Once cut, new shoots always grow back from the roots. Bamboo also produces 35% more oxygen than a tree. It is grown without pesticides and chemical fertilisers. The bamboo umbrellas are handmade in small villages in Vietnam using traditional weaving techniques. Within 3 to 6 hours, a shade is created - each one is unique. The pendant lamp looks particularly decorative when it is fitted with an LED filament lamp, possibly also in globe form. The open shade design with many gaps creates unique light and shadow effects. The Good & Mojo brand range consists of sustainable luminaires and lives by the motto: "When you buy light, you give light." This is realised through collaboration with charitable foundations such as the WakaWaka Foundation, which uses donations to provide solar products to people off the grid. Since 2019, the Good & Mojo brand has also supported the Eden Project. For every luminaire sold, a tree is planted - so far, over 150,000 trees have been planted through this initiative.
