Tasting Notes Always one of Glenfiddich's most popular expressions their 15 Year Old Scotch is matured in a solera system - a technique commonly used in the creation of some of the world's finest Sherry.; Initially aged in a mix of Bourbon Sherry and virgin oak casks it's then then married together in a solera vat which is never emptied and has been constantly kept full since 1998. This means that some of the liquid in the bottle could be in excess of 20 years of age. Pouring a dram you'll find a wonderful mingling of the festive season and British fruit. The yuletide flavours take the form of fruitcake raisins mixed peel marzipan Sherry orange fudge mulling spices and Christmas pudding. Interwoven through that is a seam of plum crumble hedgerow berries rhubarb and Glenfiddich's signature orchard fruit notes. Truly a whisky for all seasons but also a great one to have in stock as December approaches. Glenfiddich was founded by William Grant in 1887 and today represents the world's most awarded single malt Scotch. Still managed by William's descendants and still using the same water source Glenfiddich continue to evolve improve and innovate and the whiskies released have never been better.
