It uses a host of Giro's comfort and safety features, from in-mould construction to Roc-Loc® system to Wind-Tunnel venting, all to keep you comfortable when riding, and keep your head safer in the event of a crash. In-Mould Design and Hardbody™ Shell Head protection starts with the in-mould construction and Hardbody™ outer. This sees an impact-dissipating EPS foam core fused with a tough and durable polycarbonate shell. The foam core deals with harder hits, dissipating damaging impact forces. Meanwhile, the durable outer deals with those slow-speed knocks and bumps you get from low-hanging branches and slow-speed falls, giving a significant boost to durability compared to regular helmets. This in-mould fusion process also allows Giro to optimise ventilation without compromising protection, so in-mould helmets can be both lighter and cooler than traditional helmets. Multi-Directional Impact Protection System (MIPS) As you'd expect, all Giro helmets are designed to not only meet but also exceed stringent safety standards. And with MIPS you enjoy an extra level of brain-protecting technology, designed to redirect energy and provide more protection in certain impacts. • MIPS is a Brain Protection System • Rotational motion can cause brain injuries • The low friction layer allows a sliding movement of 10–15 mm, in all directions, reducing rotational motion to the brain during impact • MIPS adds protection A Rush of Air to the Head Tough technical climbs, fast-flowing singletrack and steep chutes. It all requires effort and builds heat and sweat. But thanks to Wind Tunnel™ ventilation, and its carefully positioned vents, fresh air can rush inside the helmet. Once inside, air follows internal channels that thrust cool, fresh air over and around your head while forcing heat and stale air out. This significant increase in air channelling makes a difference that riders will immediately feel and appreciate. Roc-Loc® 5 Fit System The Roc-Loc® 5 Air fit system is an industry benchmark in comfort, stability, adjustability and weight savings. It allows for a quick and precise way to get both a comfortable and secure fit, with fore-aft tilt and single-hand dial adjustment.
